Home Press Releases Alpacas a hit with elderly care home residents
ELDERLY residents wanted to adopt a pair of alpacas following a visit to their Sheffield care home.
The two fluffy, four-legged visitors were brought from the Holly Hagg Community Farm to The Laurels and The Limes Care Home, on Manchester Road.
Teddy and Sandy were led around the outside of the home, where residents were able to feed and stroke them.
Resident Lyndsey Harper said: “The alpacas were so nice. I want to keep them.”
Kayley Ward, activities coordinator at The Laurels, said: “They were so lovely. Everyone enjoyed fussing and feeding them. Lyndsey even wanted to adopt them and keep them at the home.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to Holly Hagg Community Farm for bringing them. This was the first visit to a care home for the animals but we hope to see them again.”
