Home Press Releases Care for a Cuppa at care homes to raise funds for Chesterfield hospice
CARE homes across north Derbyshire are raising funds for Ashgate Hospicecare with a series of events.
The Hill Care Group homes are hosting Care for a Cuppa events from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, 27th February, as part of the hospice’s annual fundraising campaign.
Barnfield, Springbank House and Holmewood care homes, all in Chesterfield, and Burton Closes Hall Care Home in Bakewell, are all taking part.
The homes are inviting the community in for a cup of tea, coffee and a cake to generate donations.
All funds raised will go to Ashgate Hospicecare, which provides free-of-charge services to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Wendy Waddicor, managing director of the Hill Care Group, said: “Ashgate Hospicecare provides a vital service to its patients and we are delighted to be able to support their annual fundraising campaign.
“We’re inviting everyone into our homes in Chesterfield and Bakewell to enjoy a hot drink and a slice of cake with our residents. Every donation, no matter how large or small, will be gratefully received.”
Last year, Ashgate Hospicecare raised over £20,000 through the Care for a Cuppa campaign.
Christine Selden, Community Fundraising Manager at Ashgate Hospicecare, said: “The success of Care for a Cuppa last year was fantastic.
“We hope that even more people will get involved this year as it is such a fun way to get people together and raise money for a great, local charity.”
