Home Press Releases Care home delivers gifts to hospital on 70th NHS anniversary
A GIFT package was delivered to hospital staff by a Northumberland care home to show appreciation on the 70th NHS Anniversary.
Staff from The Oaks Care Home, in Blyth, took essential supplies to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, in Cramlington.
The Oaks activities coordinator Natalie Brimelow and senior carer Paige Gallagher were met by hospital administrator Jill Armstrong.
They dropped off coffee, tea, sweets, pens and notepads.
Jill told the visitors they were the first to deliver gifts to the hospital on the 70th anniversary of the NHS.
Ann Mielnik, home manager at The Oaks Care Home, on Durban Street, said: “Jill could not thank us enough for thinking of them when we dropped off the supplies.
“We just wanted to give something back for their help with our residents when needing specialist care.
“We wanted to show them how much we appreciate their hard work and compassion, so it was the least we could do.”
