Home Press Releases Care home managers complete 20-mile charity cycle to raise funds
A 20-MILE bike ride was completed by care home managers to raise funds for the Stroke Association.
Longmoor Lodge Care Home manager Samantha Ely and deputy manager Olga Goncova took on the challenge together.
The pair started at Nottingham Train Station, rode along the canal path to Beeston Lock, along the River Trent to Holme Pierrepoint, around the lake and back towards Trent Bridge Embankment.
They raised £202 for the charity.
The Sandiacre care home is part of the Hill Care Group, with homes across the North raising funds for the Stroke Association through various events and activities.
Samantha said: “This is our chosen charity and I wanted to do my bit.
“I know about the cycle route in Nottingham and thought it would be a good challenge. I know Olga has a bike so asked her to join me.
“The weather was great though a little windy round Holme Pierrepoint Lake. We both really enjoyed it and was a pleasure to call work to say we had completed the bike ride finishing at Trent Bridge.”
