Home Press Releases Disneyland at Bolton care home
DISNEYLAND came to a Bolton care home as residents spent an afternoon in the magical world of Mickey Mouse.
Lever Edge Care Home, on Lever Edge Lane, Great Lever, was transformed into a mini-Disneyland with an inflatable Mickey Mouse, balloon arch, and other decorations.
The famous mouse’s first screen outing was on show in a specially set-up cinema room, Disney arts and crafts were available in the dining room, and songs from the Disney movie canon were playing throughout.
Dozens of elderly residents also enjoyed hotdogs and fries for tea, alongside themed cakes and brownies to snack on.
Resident Joyce Duckworth said: “I loved watching Steamboat Willie. It brought back a few memories.”
Hilda Ashcroft said: “I’ve had such a lovely afternoon. I love the themed parties that we have.”
Helen Jones added: “Excellent job girls. You put in a lot of effort. We had a great time.”
Alix Isherwood, activities coordinator at Lever Edge Care Home, said: “We really do love putting on these themed afternoons for the residents.
“The Disney afternoon was particularly great as it includes characters that spark a memory for everyone.
