Home Press Releases Festive fun at Chesterfield care home raises hundreds
CRAZY Christmas hair and a festive fayre helped a Chesterfield care home raise hundreds of pounds.
Residents and staff at Springbank House Care Home have been getting into the Christmas spirit with various activities and events.
Staff and residents were sponsored for their festive hair styles, with home manager Karen Busby styling hers into a decorated Christmas tree.
Santa dropped into the fayre, with a grotto for staff and residents’ relatives, and the home’s kitchen team prepared pork and stuffing cobs for the event.
Mulled wine and Christmas cake was served and bottles of wine were given away as tombola prizes.
Raffles tickets were also sold for the upcoming Christmas party, on 21st December, when the residents will be choosing the winner of a hamper donated by the staff and relatives.
The event helped raise over £400, which was put towards a Christmas show for the residents, activity supplies and the first outing in the New Year.
Karen Busby, home manager of Springbank House Care Home, on Ashgate Road, said: “We’d like to thank everyone who came along and donated items or money for the tombola and raffle prizes.
“The Christmas Fayre team worked really hard to put on an excellent event.
“Everyone had a wonderful time and we raised a fantastic amount for the residents’ fund.”
