Home Press Releases Frightfully successful cupcake sale for cancer charity
SPOOK-TACULAR cupcakes decorated as bats, spiders, ghosts and ghouls have helped raise funds to support those with cancer.
The creepy cake sale at University Hospital of Hartlepool was organised by staff from Bannatyne Lodge Care Home, on Manor Way, in Peterlee.
Dozens of ghostly creations floated away to raise £91 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan is the 2019/20 chosen charity of the Hill Care Group, which operates Bannatyne Lodge Care Home, one of dozens across the country fundraising throughout the year.
Home manager Lynn McMillan said: “The event was a huge success, as we managed to sell all our cakes, and raise a good amount for Macmillan Cancer Support.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to Christine Young, our resident hairdresser, for making our Halloween cakes.
“They were a hit with staff and visitors at Hartlepool Hospital. Thank you to everyone who bought one.
“All proceeds have gone to a charity very close to the hearts of everyone at Bannatyne Lodge.”
