Home Press Releases Giants’ students give care home salon a makeover
PAINT splattered teens from the Huddersfield Giants Community Trust have given a care home salon a makeover as part of a social action project.
The 15-to-17-year-old volunteers from the Trust’s National Citizen Service (NCS) carried out the redecoration work at Aden Mount Care Home, on Perseverance Street, Primrose Hill, Huddersfield.
The group of seven students re-painted the walls ocean blue, installed a table with a mirror and beauty lights as well as hung pictures.
They also took time to sit and chat with the home’s elderly residents, who were pleased to spend time with the teenagers.
Karen Scaife, home manager at Aden Mount Care Home, said: “Residents were over the moon with the young visitors and were even more over the moon with the salon’s facelift.
“We’d like to say thank you to the Huddersfield Giants Community Trust and the National Citizen Service volunteers for thinking of the home for their social action project.”
