Home Press Releases “Good” for Huddersfield care home after CQC inspection
A HUDDERSFIELD care home has been praised by industry watchdog the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an unannounced visit from inspectors.
Aden Mount Care Home, on Perseverance Street, Primrose Hill, was given an overall rating of “Good” in their latest inspection report.
Inspectors spoke to almost two dozen residents, relatives, and staff members, as well as reviewed care records and staff files, before giving the home a green light on two key questions covered in the report – is the service safe and is the service well-led.
The care home’s staff received high praise, with the report stating: “Staff knew people well and were knowledgeable regarding people’s care needs and risks.
“One relative told us, “Staff are very knowledgeable and on the ball” and “The staff know [name] well. I was impressed a carer knew all about [name]’s medication.”
“They [staff] were caring, respectful and attentive. Feedback from relatives included:
“They know [name] very well. They know her quirks,” “They know [name] and we know the staff as well, that is important,” and “The staff are excellent.”
“People and relatives felt the service was safe. Feedback included: “[name] is happy and very safe” and “The service is very safe.”
“People were involved in their care planning. They were offered a choice and supported to make decisions to enhance their quality of life. One relative told us “[name]’s health has improved since living at the home.””
Angela Mellor, home manager at Aden Mount Care Home, also received praise from residents and their relatives in the report.
Inspectors wrote: “People and their relatives knew the registered manager and felt able to share any concerns. Feedback included: “The manager is pleasant, helpful and very approachable. She puts things right” and “The manager is very good. I am very happy with [name].””
Angela said: “We are absolutely delighted with our latest CQC inspection report.
“The report reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff, ensuring our residents have a safe, caring, comfortable and enjoyable place to live.”
