Home Press Releases Halton View Care Home residents get lesson in fire safety
CHESHIRE Fire and Rescue Service paid a visit to Widnes care home residents during one of the hottest weeks of the year so far.
A team from Widnes Fire Station dropped by Halton View Care Home, on Sadler Street, to present a talk on fire safety.
The residents, staff and visitors also got the chance to sit in the fire engine, fire the hose and handle rescue equipment.
Amanda Kelly, home manager for Halton View Care Home, said: “We have had the fire talk planned for a few weeks and it just so happened to fall on one of the hottest weeks of the year so far.
“It was great fun for the residents to get outside and get involved with the team from Widnes Fire Station.
“The fire officers were really good sports, letting the residents fire the hose and sit in the fire engine. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the sunshine.”
