Home Press Releases Indoor rainbows at care home’s Coming Out Day party
RAINBOWS were shining indoors at a Teesside care home during a party to mark International Coming Out Day.
Music and dancing took place at Briarwood Care Home, on Normanby Road, Eston, Middlesbrough, to celebrate the occasion.
Rainbow flags adorned the walls and were waved by residents and staff, while rainbow themed cakes baked by the home’s kitchen staff were served during afternoon tea.
Resident John Kelly said: “I love the colours on the flags and the cakes are delicious.”
Emma Green, deputy manager at Briarwood Care Home, said: “The staff wanted to mark the day as social inclusion is vital to all facets of society.
“Also LGBTQ rights are a cause close to everyone’s hearts at Briarwood. We all have the choice to be the change we want to see and after all “Love Wins”.”
