Home Press Releases Mayor cuts ribbon on renamed Eston Lodge Care Home
ESTON Lodge Care Home has been officially opened after renaming from Briarwood Care Home and refocussing its services to better serve residents.
The ribbon was cut on the residential and residential dementia care home in Eston, Middlesbrough, by the Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, Cllr Malcolm Head and Mayoress Sue Head.
Residents, staff, and family members attended the ceremony and celebrated with live-entertainment and a buffet lunch made by the Eston Lodge catering team.
Singer Mark Carter performed residents’ favourites from the fifties, sixties and seventies, as they danced and sang along.
Resident Mavis Burke, 84, helped Mayor Cllr Head cut the ribbon. She said: “It was nice to help cut the ribbon and I loved the music.”
Tracy Hill, home manager at Eston Lodge Care Home, said: “It has been a great afternoon. The residents have all enjoyed every minute. Thank you so much to the Mayor for helping to officially open our renamed care home.
“The rebranding of Eston Lodge Care Home came from a decision to refocus our services on residential and residential dementia care to better suit the needs of our residents.
“Nursing and nursing dementia care is still available at our sister Hill Care Group homes in the area, including The Gables in Middlesbrough for nursing services, and Hazelgrove Court Care Home, in Saltburn, for nursing and nursing dementia services.
“We look forward to continuing to provide a safe, comfortable, caring environment for our residents throughout the rest of 2024 and beyond.”
