Home Press Releases Mexico comes to Derbyshire care home
MEXICO came to Derbyshire as care home residents danced to La Cucaracha and tasted the country’s traditional cuisine.
The Mexican themed evening was held at Holmewood Care Home, on Barnfield Close, Chesterfield.
The country’s green, white, and red flag decorated the dining room and residents donned sombreros for the event.
They enjoyed a dinner of tacos, fajitas and Mexican rice, while listening to La Cucaracha and La Bamba, among other songs.
Kathleen Richardson, home manager at Holmewood Care Home, said: “The Mexican food was very popular among the residents.
“The staff even contributed towards the food so they could get a taste of Mexico and they said it was delicious.
“It was a special evening for the residents and everyone had a fabulous time.”
