Home Press Releases MP joins residents for care home flag painting
A WORLD flag making workshop at a Chesterfield care home gained an extra hand when Chesterfield MP Toby Perkins dropped in.
Mr Perkins joined residents at Springbank House Care Home as they prepared for National Care Home Open Day on Saturday, 21st April.
The home has been making flags of countries visited by Queen Elizabeth II during her reign.
The Queen has paid official visits to more than 120 countries with over 270 foreign trips since ascending the throne in 1952.
Mr Perkins contributed the Estonian flag, which will be put on display with residents’ creations for the Open Day.
Karen Busby, home manager at Springbank House Care Home, on Ashgate Road, said: “Our residents were delighted to meet with Toby and to chat about the old days.
“It was wonderful of him to take the time out of his busy schedule to meet everyone and raise awareness of Care Home Open Day.
“Anyone with an interest in our care home is welcome to visit anytime but we throw open the doors to all on Care Home Open Day, along with the rest of the care sector.
“If you’re interested in seeing the home and meeting the staff, we’d be delighted to see you on Saturday, 21st April.”
