Home Press Releases Sheffield care home’s Garden Café gets grand opening
A NEW garden café has officially opened at The Laurels and The Limes Care Home in Sheffield.
Residents and their relatives can now enjoy a cuppa while they tend to flowers and plants together.
The idea behind the Garden Café, which is located in The Laurels’ dementia suite, is to give visitors an opportunity to take part in activities with their loved ones during visits.
The home, based on Manchester Road, held an opening ceremony for The Garden Café, attended by residents, staff, family and friends.
The event included tea and cakes as well as a small plant sale. Entertainment was provided by singer Terry Todd.
Louise Spooner, home manager for The Laurels, said: “The Garden Café will be used for gardening activities with residents but also for visitors to spend time with their friend or relative.
“It was great to see so many people turn out for our opening ceremony and we can’t thank them enough for their support. We’re sure the Garden Café will be a big hit with residents and visitors.”
