Home Press Releases Sixties music fan John enjoys sensational show
SIXTIES music aficionado John Huxley was treated to a special one night only show at the Halifax Victoria Theatre.
The activities coordinator at John’s care home bought two tickets to the Sensational 60s Experience knowing how much of a fan the 72-year-old resident is.
Marie Wells, who works at Aden Court Care Home, in Huddersfield, took her Saturday evening off work to escort him to the show.
Among the acts were Mike Pender, original voice of The Searches, Chris Farlowe, Herman’s Hermits, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Dakotas and more.
John said: “’I’ve had the most amazing time. A fantastic show and great music.”
Marie said: “When I saw the show on at The Victoria I decided to buy two tickets so I could take John.
“It was on my Saturday night off but I know how much he loves 60s music so I thought we couldn’t miss it.
“We both had a brilliant time and the acts were fantastic.”
Lisa Boyd, home manager at Aden Court Care Home, on Birkhouse Lane, said: “Taking John to the show at The Victoria Theatre demonstrates Marie’s care and passion for her job.
“She’s always putting the interests of our residents first and she’s a hugely valuable member of the team.
“John had a fantastic time and couldn’t stop talking about the show with his friends the next day.”
