Home Press Releases Summer fayre raises hundreds for Deangate Care Home residents
HUNDREDS of pounds were raised for the elderly at a Barnsley care home summer fayre.
Deangate Care Home, in Mapplewell, collected £230 on the day, with a bouncy castle, hook-a-duck, tombola, ice cream van and bric-a-brac stalls.
Administrator Sue Denton and home manager Julia Chambers ran the stalls, selling tie dye t-shirts and other clothing, pots, pans, children’s toys, handbags and more.
Julia said: “We had a great turnout from residents, staff, families and friends of the home, helping us to raise money for the residents’ fund.
“The fund contributes towards day trips for the residents and activities at the home.
“We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along and donated.”
