Home Press Releases Care home staff’s 25 years of service rewarded
AWARDS have been presented to two care home workers celebrating 50 years of service between them.
Housekeeper Edna Fisher and domestic worker Kathryn Mather have spent 25 years each working at Aden House Care Home, in Clayton West, near Huddersfield.
They were rewarded for their milestone with an engraved service award and a certificate signed and presented by Hill Care Group managing director Wendy Waddicor.
Hill Care took over management of Aden House Care Home in March 2018.
Alongside the awards, the pair were presented with cakes baked and decorated in the shape of 25 by the home’s chef, Kirsty Fisher, as well as a buffet.
Edna said: “‘I love my job and am very committed to it. I started out as a carer, went on to activities before becoming housekeeper.
“I have seen a lot of changes in the home over the years but to think Hill Care have done this after just 12 months is such a lovely gesture. I am truly overwhelmed.”
Kathryn said: “I’m totally shocked and surprised. I didn’t expect anything at all, but it’s really appreciated. I am blown away.
“I love my job and getting to know the residents. I can’t thank Hill Care enough. I live local and it’s a great home and it’s down the road from where I live.”
Wendy said: “25 years is an incredible milestone and one we should rightly reward and celebrate.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to Edna and Kathryn on behalf of everyone at Aden House Care Home and the Hill Care Group for their dedicated service.”
