Home Press Releases Care home’s food bank donations to help Thornaby families
ELDERLY care home residents have been collecting food and household items to help those in need over Christmas.
The residents of Mandale House Care Home, in Thornaby, were joined by staff, relatives and friends in their appeal for donations.
Pasta, tinned goods, cakes, biscuits and toiletries were among the items handed over to the Thornaby Food Bank, at Thornaby Baptist Church, Thorntree Road.
Michael Allen, home manager at Mandale House Care Home, on Acklam Road, said: “It’s good to help others who don’t have all the things we do.
“We were so impressed by the kindness of Thornaby residents and we’d like to thank them for helping us support the local community.”
