Home Press Releases Chef visits care home to celebrate National Pizza Day
A POPULAR Pelton pub chef visited care home residents to help them celebrate National Pizza Day.
Keith Flood, from the Barley Mow Inn, Birtley, ran a pizza making experience at Pelton Grange Care Home in Chester-le-Street.
The chef showed the residents how to make and decorate their own pizza before giving them the opportunity to create their own perfect combination of toppings.
Resident Dennis Fullerton was joined by his wife Margaret to roll out the dough, finish the pizza and share a slice together.
Lyndsay Sale-Thorn, activities coordinator at Pelton Grange Care Home, on Front Street, said: “Keith was very kind to take time out from his work schedule to give our residents a pizza making experience.
“Everyone really enjoyed National Pizza Day and Dennis in particular was thrilled to have a go at making his own pizza with his wife Margaret.”
