Home Press Releases Sunshine fun raises funds for care home residents
THE SUMMER sunshine has helped a Chesterfield care home raise hundreds of pounds for activities and day trips for residents.
A summer fayre and car wash saw Springbank House Care Home, on Ashgate Road, collect almost £600 – which will go towards their Residents’ All Star Fund.
Entertainer Keeley May led a sing-along show of residents’ favourite songs at the fayre, which also included a raffle with dozens of prizes.
The home’s kitchen team also prepared afternoon tea for residents and visitors to enjoy during the day. The event raised £443.88.
The car wash generated another £150 for the fund, which also included a BBQ, tombola and cake sale.
Karen Busby, home manager at Springbank House Care Home, said: “The team are very dedicated to raising funds for our residents, so they can go out on more trips.
“Both the summer fayre and car wash were a huge success and we’d like to thank everyone who lent their support, came along and helped us raise an amazing amount.”
